Cannabis Crusader: First Public Interview
It wasn’t easy getting the marijuana activist leader to meet and sit down for an interview who for the most part has remained hidden underground due to the cost of sometimes standing up for peoples rights by taking on important issues in the industry. For this story, it actually took the prompting of late-blooming Miss High Times contestant Laura Lynn to get the ball rolling once again ultimately bringing the dormant Doobie Comics hero Cannabis Crusader back to life. It was through Laura Lynn, who has now become one of the members of the tight-knit group, that this reporter was able to set up the first public interview with Cannabis Crusader.
Mike D: Where did the idea of Cannabis Crusader come from?
CC: Believe it or not the idea came from a time when there was a group of renegade wannabe police officers called Bolt Force running around the streets in Phoenix pretending to be superheroes hassling and getting people busted for possessing a herb something God made. Basically, the order came from the top that someone had to tell these clowns what time it really was for what they were doing was wrong. Genesis 1:29 clearly states:
“Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you.
Then Psalm 104:14 states:
“He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.”
Mike D: So it’s safe to assume you and your group truly are marijuana rights activists?
CC: All the way to the bone definitely yes!
Mike D: Why?
CC: The biggest reason is the miraculous herb has helped me and others I personally know beyond words. Next, I would have to say is the fact there are those who say the pharmaceutical industry has become one of the top five leading cause of death in America.
Mike D: Are you saying you trust a plant over manmade drugs?
CC: For some things most definitely. Depression, pain, and other illnesses can be treated with something natural like marijuana as I have personally experienced instead of something manmade the effects of which are unknown in the long term. Personally, it boils down to who do you want to trust something that God made or man made?
Mike D: Is marijuana addictive?
CC: Yes, in the sense that most of the really pleasant things in life are worth endlessly repeating. However, on the other hand, marijuana is not addictive for people are the addicts and will find a substance or a belief that will feed the addiction. One tends to look for a substance that allows them not to live with who and what they really are. To stop addiction society must treat the patient and stop blaming everyone and everything else.
Mike D: Does marijuana lead to harder drugs?
CC: No way. Marijuana does not lead to harder drugs. People tend to get bored of weed and move on down the line to stronger drugs to get the high or feeling they need or want to reach. They either stay with weed or quit. Cigarettes and alcohol are much stronger gateway drugs.
Mike D: Is marijuana more dangerous than tobacco?
CC: In our culture alcohol is the most dangerous drug available followed by tobacco and then pharmacy pills. So no, marijuana is not more dangerous than tobacco.
Mike D: Does marijuana cause any life-threatening health problems?
CC: Marijuana does not to the best of my knowledge or awareness cause any life-threatening problems whatsoever. Alcohol and tobacco sure do, but we allow these drugs to be marketed and promoted to the citizens all for paper profits at the cost of our communities.
Mike D: Is there any medical purposes for marijuana?
CC: Oh God yes! If people believe that marijuana helps their medical issues then they should be allowed to indulge in those remedies. I have personally seen cannabis help people over and over again in so many ways. The uses of the plant for pain or depression as well as other applications are in my opinion endless for it simply works, plus the best part its natural.
Mike D: Why do you feel cannabis should be legalized?
CC: Marijuana must be legalized because it grows in nature. To take a plant something God made and make it illegal to possess is like make making nature illegal. If the powers that be can take a simple plant and make it illegal just imagine what else is being kept from society and why.
Mike D: How long have you been in the Verde Valley?
CC: Since the 80’s. I actually came down here to visit my family who has lived here for a long time. After receiving a set of dreams about the Sedona red rock mountains, I moved to the area which is a very magical region a place I have come to experience and call “Gods Land.”
Mike D: How many members are there on your team?
CC: Every cannabis user in the world! There’s no way possible way a person who enjoys the herb wouldn’t want to be part of a team standing up for the right to possess what God made. Nevertheless; if you must know there’s Thor Cannabis, Captain Cannabis, Sgt. Reefer, Cannaboss, Captain Jamaica, our Miss High Times winner Laura Lynn, and a couple others.
Mike D: Can you tell me about Operation Lightning Bolt?
CC: After finding out the truth about Bolt Force after having had to do an investigation into the group and taking that information to the person who requested the inquiry it was decided to form a group of pseudo-superheroes in order to be able to counteract the real pseudo-superheroes if that at all makes sense. Once the group was formed and each one created their own character then the team went on social media and began to tell Bolt Force how we thought about what they were doing and why.
Mike D: What was Bolt Force doing that made you want to form a counter force or pseudo-force? (LOL!)
CC: For the sake of getting a little fame the group teamed up on a young couple completely violating their rights which appeared to ultimately get them arrested for possessing cannabis. Bolt Force are nothing more then private citizens they have no right to be out forcing people through underhanded tactics to give up evidence. To me, it was clear Bolt Force was playing the roles of police officers on young people who also thought they were as well. Seeing the group using underhanded tactics in this manner was shameful and it was at this point I knew something needed to be done.
Mike D: What kind of response have you received so far?
CC: So far we have remained hidden in the background preparing the way to take on these issues until recently, therefore, no-one really knows about us till now.
Mike D: What are the team's plans for the future?
CC: To continue to take on important issues in the industry. The first comic issue was you could say “personal” since it has some factual bases which each person is just going to have to figure out all part of the fun with some mystery. That is to say, most people will most likely not understand “Bolt Forced” unless they research the group, “Bolt Force.” Then perhaps the individual will understand the irony involved in the first issue making it a classic on multiple levels.
Mike D: What can we expect from Cannabis Crusader and the team in the future?
CC: To be honest there will be a lot and you’re just going to have to keep puffing to really stay in tune!
Mike D: What was the name of the cannabis strain that had you seeing your first UFO down by Sedona?
CC: Space Shuttle. There has yet to be anyone who has ever been able to come by the stuff again for good reason of course for since seeing the first UFO there’s been a whole bunch more!
Mike D: What is the name of your favorite cannabis strain?
CC: Believe it or not, and this is truly related, “Phoenix Lights.” (Laughs.)
