Soul Journey: Laying on of Hands
In order to undertake this “self-initiation ritual” of actually showing a person how to experience the light of their own “inner star” allowing for a small glimpse of the soul, there must be some discussion. Indeed being able to actually see and experience the “light” and the “soul” through the darkness may sound strange at first but as you are about to see it’s very experiential!
There are two ways this practice can be done. It may be accomplished by the laying on of hands of one familiar with how to properly perform it as it should be done or by the self through a process of trial and error. As with all things, it's often better to have someone assisting who has traveled down the path and mastered the practice in order to get the desired results the quickest.
Through this gateway and the practices thereof, one is able to instantly journey to an inner place and start to have their eye become single and opened to the star and light within! The directions MUST be followed closely for there are dangers if this is practiced wrong like temporary blindness. Therefore you will want to be in a safe and secure area since you will be vulnerable for a short period of time.
In essence, the eyes when firmly pushed on with the eyelids closed (thus the laying on of hands) by thumbs stops forward sight allowing the energy and power of sight to then be used to see by becoming redirected back to what is seeing. Using the power of the eyes sight is redirected back to the source.
The “Inner Light” actually comes from the soul; it is already inside us. The moment we can have free access to our soul, we will see that this Light is coming to the fore to permeate our whole outer existence.
~ Sri Chinmoy
Most people are not comfortable with the amount of pressure needed to produce the desired result. You literally have to exclusively trust the person performing the task as well because you are allowing them to put hands on you with eyes closed.
Press and hold long enough (about 5 seconds) and the hidden realm of light will start to materialize forming kaleidoscopic like geometric shapes and patterns similar to a honeycomb of light. The longer you can hold the gentle steady pressure and hold the eyes still, for the practice is rather uncomfortable, the more you will see.
If one follows the path correctly they will experience parts of themselves unaware of before and may peer into the dark abyss where there is no light but a single tiny cell. Through the electrical conduit of the eyes, this sense is able to see into the brain. It is from here the soul perceives and commands.
“The kingdom of heaven is inside of you; and whosoever shall know himself, shall find it.” -Egyptian Proverb
The inner chamber is called the “vaulted chamber, the archway” where the flame (light) of the mind burns, where the torch bears the solitary candle of David Bowie’s song Blackstar refers to as the solitary candle “at the center of it all, your eyes.” In Freemasonry, this is also the location of the “eternal flame.” JRR Tolkien called it “the flame imperishable.”
At the center of it all is the light of consciousness found in places like the Olympic Torch/Freemasonry symbolizing keeping the sacred fire (spirit) burning at the seat of the soul. This same torch is said to be able to bear light through the underworld and is also the spiritual “all-seeing” eye, the eye you see with while dreaming.
“Enlighten means awaken to what we do and what’s true, with eyes closed, there comes light in the mind. Enlightenment means light in the mind.”
